Vampires have come to take over Lancre, but in a very subtle way. Magrat has just had her baby, a girl, and joins Nanny and Agnes in their attempt to try to stop the vampires. Granny goes away after thinking she hasn't been invited to the baby's name ceremony (silly Granny). It's getting obvious that she's not as young as she once was, but she still comes to the aid of her fellow witches (after realising how silly she's been, of course). Will they save Lancre from the vampires?

After the past few Discworld novels, Carpe Jugulum has picked up the series a bit in my opinion. It's hard not to enjoy a Witches story, but my favourite thing is probably the Igor's. I love the way they're written, especially the lisp. And they're always 'upgrading' themselves, so the perfect servants, really.

I'm certainly looking forward to more of the Witches novels and finding out what's in store for the baby.

After escaping execution, Luke becomes the new Prince of Winchester. He gains another city and is known as the Price of Three Cities. He learns of Blodwen and Edmund's love for one another. Betrayed, he sets off to Wilsh to demand an army to get revenge.

Just as you feel you're starting to like Luke, he turns into a pompous ass. I feel I like him less and less. He's too busy seeking revenge on personal matters, and neglecting his responsibilities as prince. It's a shame when a main character becomes someone you don't like, as often it can run the book or series.

Although Luke became someone I didn't like, I don't think it ruined the series. You're basically with Luke as he's growing up, so you get an insight into why he's making these decisions. I quite enjoyed this series, although perhaps more could have been done with the subject matter, especially the forbidden technologies, and especially considering it was a trilogy.

Justin is convinced into giving blood in order to get a date with the nurse. Joyce is recovering from an accident in which she lost her baby. She's getting divorced and moving back in with her father. But she has all these weird memories, and she knows things she shouldn't. Will she ever figure out why?

It took me a while to get into this story; probably more than half way. It felt as though I was being given all this information about the characters, but it wasn't really going anywhere. Once I was in, however, I was hooked! There's a bit at the end which made my stomach flip, and the last chapter saved the book from being thrown across the room!

Very light reading, and can take a while to get into, but I would still recommend it, because once you get into it it's very hard to put down!

Rincewind seems to be lost on a desert. It's very dry and they've never even heard of rain! The librarian keeps sneezing and turning himself into different things. The wizards at Unseen University travel to the desert but find themselves in the past. *gasp* time travel!

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't that keen on this Discworld installment. The story just didn't captivate me like it normally does. I did like the librarian changing shape though, that was amusing.

I do like Rincewind, but sometimes I find his storylines a bit more dull in comparison to the others. Boo.
